Stirling Youth Hostel
About About this youth hostel
Stirling Youth Hostel is just a few minutes’ walk from historic Stirling Castle on its crag, with magnificent views over the surrounding area. Head downhill and you’re right in the city centre with its shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs and nightlife.
Behind the classical frontage of historic Erskine Marykirk lies the modern building of Stirling Youth Hostel, set in its own grounds and with extensive views over the town and surrounding countryside. It’s a great base from which to explore the many attractions in and around the area.
The hostel offers a range of shared accommodation and private rooms, all en-suite, making it perfect for groups, families and individual travellers. Other facilities include a self-catering kitchen, dining room, two large lounge areas and a meeting room for private use. The hostel is licensed and meals are available on request. WiFi is free.

03/12/18All the staff, management and cleaning staff, were helpful, supportive and friendly. I have stayed in hostels all over Scotland over the last 30 years and it is the best in everyway, we will definitely be returning.
16/11/18We hired the meeting room for a get together for people from all over Scotland. Felt like a perfect place for our get-together: great location, easy to find and get to, friendly welcome, helpful people all day long, plenty of space for what we needed to do, and all for a very affordable price. Many thanks!
12/11/18Really friendly and helpful staff on arrival. Very clean rooms. Everything we needed and wanted. Great location for town. Could not ask for more for the price.
12/11/18Very convenient, comfortable bed and pillows, excellent location, friendly staff, ideal for those traveling alone or in a group. Made me feel like 'goldie locks' everything was just right.
yes, Paige from Texas
09/11/18Excellent facilities. Was in town on business for a couple of days and wanted to save travelling to and fro for 2 days. Great location for local restaurants etc.
08/11/18Perfect stay. Was down for a training course the next morning, location ideal. Staff very welcoming, room fit for purpose (bed for night) and self-catering kitchen spotless. Value for money - amazing
29/10/18This was ideal for me as I was only staying for one night and it was very close to where I was heading to.
28/10/18Hostel is fantastically located in an interesting part of Stirling and has a wonderful facade and position next to the ancient jailhouse. It is modern, clean, warm and welcoming, so we would recommend it to anyone who visits the area.

28/10/18Very nice location and building. Staff were helpful and all facilities worked as expected. Great value.
family from oxford
27/10/18Excellent position, comfortable and clean.
21/10/18interesting hostel built on the site of an old church
12/10/18It's so nice to be able to stay in the hostel during a rainy day...
09/09/18Wonderful building, steps from Stirling Castle, and just up the bend from restaurants. Was clean and bright. I might suggest a different area for luggage storage, as the option we were given was under the stairs in the main lobby.
03/07/18The hostel is in a great location up by the castle. Make sure you walk up to the graveyard, the views are great. We ate at the City Walls pub and it was very good value with an area to sit out upstairs.
25/06/18yes go to Stirling location perfect for sightseeing shopping or just chillin xx
24/06/18Very close to the cemetery and the castle. 10 min walk to the pubs and restaurants. Parking available, super clean and friendly staff.
30/04/18Perfectly located for the Stirling marathon. They even put on an early breakfast for the runners!
19/04/18Good city hostel in the old town, Stirling is like a mini-Edinburgh and too often overlooked for less historic cities and towns.
25/03/18Great hostel comfy bed
11/03/18Excellent value for money
16/02/18Stirling is a beautiful city and it has a rather fine youth hostel, there is limited parking on site and great views over the city and away towards the mountains. Public transport in the area seems pretty good too.
12/02/18Really comfy and loads of space. Nice big kitchen. Plenty of parking over the weekend nearby. Check in and out was seamless, quiet and friendly place.
18/12/17friendly, helpful staff. Hostel in a great location for exploring the city and environs, visiting the castle etc.
16/12/17Happy to return
27/11/17Good location. Well run. Steep stairs.
18/09/17Great for a walk over Carron bridge, but no hostel at other other end.
10/09/17Very helpful and friendly staff.
08/09/17Fantastic hostel with very friendly staff. Private room adequately met my needs and at £40 is excellent value. Just be aware of the steep climb
03/09/17This is good site in Stirling just beside the Castle and old town jail. Kitchen is warm and facilities are enough to use.
01/09/17Perfect location, but not enough free parking space for visitors with a car.
