Rhenigidale, Isle of Harris

Rhenigidale lies at the end of a road in a secluded and peaceful bay on the rugged east coast of Harris.

The area offers excellent variety for the walker, with coastlines and mountains providing magnificent views over the sea to the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland hills. 

The deserted village of Molinginish can be reached by path (approximately three miles from Rhenigidale). Loch Seaforth is a short walk behind the hostel.

Golden eagles, deer, seals, otters and porpoises can often be seen around this beautiful corner of Harris.
Overnight Fee £20 (£10 for under 18s). Camping fee £12 (£6 for under 18s). Sheet sleeping bags are required and may be hired for £3. Your first night at this hostel is not bookable but once you have bagged a bed it is yours for the rest of your stay.

Rhenigidale Hostel is a traditional croft house overlooking the Minch on the rugged east coast of Harris enjoying distant views of Skye, the Shiants and the mainland of northwest Scotland.

Surrounded by magnificent rugged scenery of mountains and lochs the area is a haven for wildlife. Golden Eagles can often be spotted soaring in the skies above the hostel and deer, otters and porpoises are regular visitors to this beautiful corner of Harris.

Walk the historic 'Postman’s Path' or simply relax in the secluded bay close to the hostel and soak up the scenery.

Whatever you decide to do, this remote corner of Harris is well worth a visit!
