About About this youth hostel ....
From its spectacular seafront location on the NC500, Ullapool Youth Hostel offers wonderful views over Loch Broom and the Beinn Dearg mountain range. This warm and welcoming hostel offers guests a range of accommodation from private rooms to comfortable shared dorms. Only one of the private rooms is en-suite but there are ample shower and washroom facilities available.
WiFi access is free for all guests and other facilities include: a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, two comfy lounges with sea views, an excellent laundry, drying room and cycle storage for up to fifteen bikes.
The hostel is within easy reach of local shops, bars and restaurants serving fresh local produce. The bus station with connections to Inverness is only 300m away and you can catch a boat to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis from the nearby ferry terminal.

Access Hours
The lounge area is available for staying guests and early arrivals to use all day. The communal areas in the hostel, including dorms, are closed between 11:00 and 14:00 for cleaning. Guests staying in private rooms are welcome to use their rooms during the day. Late check in is available on request. Please contact us if you think you’ll be arriving after 22:00, so we can make check-in arrangements.

At the age of 44 this was my first Youth hosteling experience with my teenage children. I feel I may have been missing a trick all these years. Very friendly staff, well equipped kitchen and amazing views ! Definitely worth a visit.Charlotte Thompson

Bike packed the outer Hebrides and returned to mainland at Oban.The hostel was excellent.lovely staff booked us in and our bikes were soon safely locked away ,our wet kit in the drying room and a kettle on in very spacious well equipt kitchen. The shower and toilets very clean and very welcomed.!! Our room was the male dorm and could sleep 6. That too was excellent.A large locker was available if so wished. Back down stairs the lounge and common room was large and comfy ,plenty of books and gameRich J

We were a group of four staying for one night after climbing Suilven. Hostel was clean, comfortable and very convenient for some rest and a meal after the walk. Good value. All in the group were happy with the stay.Andy

What a fabulous place to stay in Ullapool! Lovely staff, superb location and great facilities. If you are looking to stay somewhere that you can take glorious photos as well as walk to the pub, the chemist and info centre, this is it. We were sad we only stayed one night.Aussie Stacey

Ullapool is one of the prettiest fishing villages in the Highlands and has a plentiful supply of local restaurants and bars, a leisure centre, swimming pool, museum and theatre. It's easy to spend time in this vibrant Highland community with regular music nights, festivals, cultural and arts events. Ullapool Youth Hostel sits on the famous North Coast 500 and provides an excellent base for exploring the North West Highlands with its iconic mountain scenery, beaches, sea lochs and islands. Ferries leave daily for Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis and there are cruises to visit the Summer Isles.
Established by two local lassies in 2016, the Seafood Shack is well worth a visit for a high quality local takeaway, freshly caught and landed by local fishermen.
