Glasgow Metro Youth Hostel opens from late June to the end of August in the Glasgow School of Art’s Margaret Macdonald House just minutes from Glasgow city centre.
Margaret Macdonald House is registered as a 3 star Hostel with Visit Scotland and has achieved a Gold rating from the Green Business Tourism Scheme. The hostel has 107 single bedrooms and almost half of these are en-suite. All rooms have access to a simple self-catering kitchen and benefit from free WiFi.
Situated in a residential area 5-minutes’ walk from Glasgow city centre, the hostel is popular with groups, families and summer school students. Several bus and underground stations are within a 10-minute walk and the main train station is under a mile away.
Buchanan Street (€˜The Style Mile'), with Princes Square and a host of top shopping opportunities is only a 15 minute walk away and Merchant Square with its indoor craft fair and diverse range of cafes, pubs and restaurants is only a 30 minute walk.
