Sitting on the banks of Loch Ranza, opposite a 13th-century ruined castle and surrounded by magnificent countryside, the youth hostel offers a wide range of shared accommodation and private en-suite rooms, perfect for groups, families and individual hostellers. The hostel benefits from a great bus connection with the nearest bus stop 5 minutes' walk away.
Other facilities include a spacious self-catering kitchen and laundry service available on request.
The youth hostel sits on the Cock of Arran trail, a beautifully scenic low level trek offering stunning views of the surrounding area. The hostel garden is a great spot for local wildlife with regular visitors including red deer, red squirrels, and golden eagles with grey seals and otters often seen in the bay.
Often referred to as Scotland in miniature, Arran is a popular place to enjoy the great outdoors with a number of activities on offer including hill walking, mountain biking, pony-trekking, fishing, golfing and water sports. For those looking to take life at a more leisurely pace, the nearby Lochranza distillery is worth a visit.
With dog friendly accommodation available at Lochranza Youth Hostel, your four-legged friend will be able to join in on all the fun! A small fee of five pounds per dog per night will be charged and must be booked in advance to ensure that a dog friendly room is allocated. For further information please refer to our Dog Guidelines
