Kirkwall Youth Hostel is a friendly and welcoming hostel close to the historic town and beautiful 12th-century St Magnus Cathedral.

A former World War Two base and school hostel, Kirkwall Youth Hostel is located in a quiet location on the edge of the Royal Burgh of Kirkwall.

The youth hostel is a popular choice with groups, individuals and families looking for budget accommodation. There are good facilities including family and private rooms, a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, a large drying room and laundry facilities.

Orkney is a Neolithic treasure trove, and Kirkwall Youth Hostel is a superb base for exploring its historic sites. Many attractions, like Skara Brae, Maes Howe, Kirkwall Cathedral and The Ring of Brodgar are a short distance away. The youth hostel is only a mile away from historic Scapa Flow and a lovely beach.

Ferries leave the harbour regularly for many Northern Isles. Please note: Kirkwall Youth Hostel is closed between 10.00am - 5.00pm daily. If arriving on a late ferry, please let the hostel/reservations team know in advance so we can make sure we are there to greet you.
