Warm and welcoming, Kirkwall Youth Hostel is located in a quiet area on the edge of the Royal Burgh of Kirkwall, close to the historic town and beautiful 12th-century St Magnus Cathedral.

With a range of shared accommodation and private rooms, the hostel is a popular choice for groups, individuals and families. Facilities include a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, a large drying room and laundry facilities.

Orkney is a Neolithic treasure trove, and Kirkwall Youth Hostel is a superb base for exploring its historic sites. Many attractions, like Skara Brae, Maes Howe, Kirkwall Cathedral and The Ring of Brodgar are a short distance away. The youth hostel is only a mile away from historic Scapa Flow and a lovely beach.

Nearby ferry ports include Stromness, St Margarets, Burwick and Hatson. There are regular ferries to a number of Northern Isles destinations.

The youth hostel is closed between 10.00 - 17.00 daily. If arriving on a late ferry, please let the hostel/reservations team know in advance so we can make sure we are there to greet you.
