Surrounded by woodland Aviemore Youth Hostel is situated on the boundary of the Cairngorm National Park and a short walk from Aviemore town centre, it’s the ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts, families, school and groups looking to explore the beautiful Cairngorm National Park and surrounding area.
The youth hostel offers a range of shared accommodation and private rooms and has a great range of facilities including a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, a large dining area and spacious lounge with stunning views of the Cairngorm Mountains and surrounding woodland where red squirrels and other wildlife are often spotted. There is a large drying room to cater for Scotland's unpredictable climate and ample parking for cars and buses.
Situated just nine miles from the Cairngorm Mountain funicular and snowsports area, Aviemore Youth Hostel provides an ideal base for year-round activities. Most activities take place on the Rothiemurchus Estate, a fabulous area with easy paths through the picturesque Caledonian Pine forest.
Local attractions include the Landmark Forest Adventure Park, Highland Wildlife Park, Loch Garten RSPB and Strathspey Steam Railway.
The hostel also hosts a Scottish Natural Heritage visitor centre, including the amazing Peregrine nestcam and helpful information about Craigellachie National Nature Reserve so visitors are welcome to pop in at any time.
