Born out of glaciers and volcanic explosions, Glencoe’s mountains and deep valley make it one of the most well-known places to visit in the Highlands. It’s equally dramatic past makes it one of the most historic too. These days, the area attracts flocks of visitors (and film crews!) to soak in the awe-inspiring views.

As our Glencoe Youth Hostel is open 7 days a week throughout winter, you’ll have plenty of time to get out there and explore this famous scenic Glen without the summer crowds. Although, as this is Scotland, we can’t always promise blue skies and sunshine…as Scottish adventure photographer Dan Bell discovered when he spent a couple of days exploring the area. Watch the video to find out how Dan got on!
