The Cairngorms National Park Travel grant scheme is now open for applications from schools and community groups to support educational trips to the area.

The grant scheme, which provides 75% of transport costs up to a maximum of £200, is particularly aimed at schools from socially deprived areas, and community groups who experience disadvantage such as people with disabilities, young or older people, black and minority ethnic groups, those on low incomes or who have health issues. The Cairngorms National Park would like to encourage applications from schools and groups who have not visited the Park before, as well as those from urban areas on the fringes of the Park such as Inverness, Aberdeen, Dundee and Perth.

Feedback from previous groups show that grant has made a huge difference in terms of their outdoor learning, understanding of the National Park and making their trip more inclusive, both financially and socially.

The Cairngorms National Park recognise these benefits to enable young people and those from disadvantaged communities to the Park to enjoy and experience the fantastic landscapes and learning opportunities there.
