Scotland's international crime writing festival returns for 2017 bringing with it leading authors from Scotland and around the world as well as the best new talent you'll want to keep an eye out for.



This year's festival includes appearances from Lynda La Plante, Simon Kernick, Val McDermid, Ragnar Jónasson, Ian Rankin, Vince Cable, Christopher Brookmyre, Denise Mina and more!

The opening Gala Night takes place in the magnificent Great Hall of Stirling Castle, just up the road from Stirling Youth Hostel, and will feature the launch the Bloody Scotland anthology of new short stories and the winner of the prestigious McIlvanney Prize for Scottish crime book of the year will also be announced. A stunning torchlight procession from Stirling Castle to the Albert Halls will follow the Gala Night.
