Combining the best of modern technology with the simplicity and
peace of a bygone age our Eco Hostels, Loch Ossian and Glen Affric,
make the perfect destination, not only for the green-conscious
traveller, but for those looking to escape the trappings of modern
life.
While Glen Affric is only open during the summer season, Loch
Ossian is available as a RentaHostel during the winter months, so
you can hire the whole hostel for your exclusive use.
Loch Ossian is one of our most popular and much-loved hostels.
The refurbished boat shed operates some of the most up-to-date
environmental science, generating all of its own electricity from a
wind turbine and solar panels. Water is recycled through a grey
water filtration system which ensures that almost all of the water
used is recycled
The Hostel is a superb base from which to explore the remote
wilderness of the Rannoch Moor. Ideal walking country, with plenty
of high and low level routes that incorporate some fine Munros and
Corbetts. The Hostel can only be reached on foot by a 1 mile track
from Courrour Station (on the Glasgow to Fort William line) thereby
promoting sustainable transport also.
Our Eco Hostels programme is constantly developing and we are
committed to keeping these beautiful and characterful properties,
many set in the most majestic and breathtaking locations in
Scotland, in good stead for future generations to enjoy.
