SYHA Treeplanting
Here at SYHA Hostelling Scotland we are
further improving our green credentials by supporting a new tree
planting initiative at Teaghlach Wood near Comrie in Perthshire. We
recently visited the Trees4Scotland site to launch a
campaign encouraging SYHA members and readers of The
Scottish Hosteller magazine to get planting. Pictured
above are SYHA Hostel Managers Wilma Watson of Pitlochry and James
Loudon of Stirling with Angus Crabbie from
Trees4Scotland.
By teaming up with the initiative, SYHA will
be able to contribute positively to the offset of climate change
and leave a lasting message for generations to come. Our progress
will be logged by a special online discount code
(SYHA01) on tree planting packages bought via the
Trees4Scotland’s Teaghlach Wood website. There are four
different packages to choose from for the planting of a single tree
or up to 100. As Hostelling Scotland planted more than
five trees we now have our name etched on the Rowan honours board
in Teaghlach Wood. Pictured below is Angus presenting SYHA's
certificate to James.

Amy Wellens, Editor of The Scottish
Hosteller magazine explains “Our readers and SYHA members
have a great opportunity to make a real difference; it’s been
fantastic to learn more about what can be done to leave a positive
footprint in Scotland”. Gus Crabbie from
Trees4Scotland adds “Being involved with Hostelling
Scotland’s network is an obvious partnership. They are a
conscientious charity dedicated to promoting the outdoor lifestyle
and Scotland’s environment …their ethos fits perfectly with
ours".
So if you would like to purchase a really
unique and long-lasting gift for someone environmentally minded,
