Coigach Gathering
The annual Coigach Gathering will be held on the 4th July on and
around Badentarbet beach in Achiltibuie
- 1pm – Piping the chieftan Tom MacIver to
Badentarbet Green
- 1.15pm – Accordion & fiddle
competitions
- 1.15pm - Target shooting until
4pm
- 2pm – Rowing demon by local fishermen
- 2pm - Childrens races
- 2pm - Flycasting until 4pm
- 2.40pm – Hill race / Biathlon start
- 4pm – Sheep shearing
- 4.15pm – Net mending
- 4.30pm – Tug-O-War
- 5pm – Stone tower building
- 5.30pm – Prize giving & prize draw
- 6pm – Bonfire on beach
- 6pm – Traditional music in tent until
8pm
- 9pm – Dance to the Remains and MV5
Also... sumo wrestling, best half doz eggs,
wellie boot throwing, skittles, penalty shoot out, guess the
weight of salmon, face painting, BBQ etc, etc
