How do I get here ?


Bus

All buses will stop at the hostel. Tell the driver "Uig Youth Hostel"


Car

The hostel is about 20 minutes drive North of Portree on the A87. From the road take a private driveway turning off to the right approx. 200 metres after entering the 40mph speed restriction / after the village sign ""Uig"". The driveway to the hostel is very steep and unsuitable for minibuses and coaches. If travelling from South of Fort William, most SatNavs will direct you to Mallaig, from where a ferry service to the Isle of Skye (Armadale) is operated by Caledonian MacBrayne (www.calmac.co.uk). Please note that ferry services are restricted in the winter and on Sundays. Check times and availability before heading to Mallaig. Alternatively, you can reach Skye by road. stay on the A82 towards Inverness until you join the A87 at Invergarry.


Ferry

Ferries from Lochmaddy and Tarbert on the Outer Hebrides.


Foot

Walk 2 km from the ferry terminal, the hostel is visible from the bay. Follow the road heading to Portree.


Train

Nearest stations are Kyle of Lochalsh or Mallaig. From there take bus connections to the hostel.
