Rhenigidale

Photo of Hostel

Rhenigidale, the first Gatliff Hostel opened in 1962, lies at the end of a secluded and peaceful valley on the rugged east coast of Harris. The area offers excellent variety for the keen walker with coastlines and mountains providing magnificent views over the sea to the Isle of Skye, the Uists, and the Scottish mainland hills. The deserted village of Molinginish can be reached by path (approx. 3 miles from Rhenigidale) and there are various other ruined settlements in the area. Golden eagles, deer, seals, otters and porpoises can often be seen around this beautiful corner of Harris. Sorry no advanced bookings: Senior £10 / Junior £6
