Walkers

Shorter Walks
Hallaig visit
Straightforward walk to the ruins of the cleared village of
Hallaig, subject of Sorley Maclean's famous poem.

Bagh an Inbhire (Inver Bay)
This short walk follows a delightful old path downhill through
woodland and past waterfalls to reach a peaceful pebble beach with
a stunning outlook.

Torran Circuit
An excellent and very varied circular walk from the end of
'Calum's Road' at the northern end of Raasay.

Screapadal
A gentle walk to the remains of the deserted village of
Screapadal. The peaceful spot has impressive views over to
Applecross. The return route gives the chance to see the ruins of
Brochel castle.

Moderate Walks
The Ironstone Mines and the Burma Road
A superb and very varied circuit visiting the old ironstone
mines of Raasay.

Churchton Bay and Raasay woodlands
A beautiful exploration of the area around Inverarish village on
Raasay, this walk includes fine woodland, coast and a secluded
beach.

Hallaig circuit from East Suisnish
A challenging circuit incorporating the ruins of the cleared
village of Hallaig, made famous through the poetry of Sorley
Maclean.

Dun Caan
A superb hillwalk to the distinctive flat-topped summit of Dun
Caan, the highest hill on the Isle of Raasay and a wonderful
viewpoint.
