15 miles from Stromness. 3 miles from Hatston Pier (Kirkwall) (Aberdeen - Kirkwall - Lerwick Ferry).2 1/2 miles from Kirkwall to the Local Islands, 20 miles from Burwick (John O'Groat Ferry) 15 miles from St Margaret's Hope (Pentland Ferries). Hostel is approx. 2.25 miles from ferry. Note: From 17th August 2010 the ferry crossings between Sconser and Raasay will use a new ferry pier on Raasay, north of the old one, near Raasay House. From the pier follow the signposts to the hostel
