Garenin hostel is
temporarily closed due to heating supply issues. The
hostel will re-open as soon as the issues relating to the heating
are resolved.
Please Note: For practical reasons it is
not possible to accommodate children under 5 years-of-age. Beds are
usually available, but reservations cannot be made for the first
night of a proposed stay. No special facilities are
available.

Local Attractions
This hostel is set within a village dedicated to giving an
interpretation of the past buildings and cultural aspects.

particular the North-west coast, Carloway Broch, the Callanish
Stones, the Bragar and Arnol Museum, the areas around Ness and the
Butt of Lewis as well as the Uig Peninsula are worth
investigating.
The hostel is next door to a museum and interpretation centre
that is part of the Garenin Village that is featured at www.gearrannean.com
Eating & Drinking
The Garenin Blackhouse Café & Restaurant is adjacent to the
hostel. There are several hotels and restaurants in Stornoway, 15
miles distant www.gearrannean.com
Walkers
The sea-shore is some 80 yards away and there are cliff-walks,
particularly to Dal Mor Bay.
