Torridon

Photo of Hostel

Torridon is a magnificent corner of the North Western Highlands with some of the finest mountain scenery in Europe. Situated at the base of the mighty Liathach (1055m) and only a stones throw from Upper Loch Torridon. This area is thought to be the inspiration for Middle Earth, in Tolkien’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ - to see it is to believe it. Walkers are spoilt for choice - hills, coastal trails and remote glens. For the best advice ask our knowledgeable hostel staff. The local Mountain Rescue team also has their base at the youth hostel. Torridon village is a small west coast community which offers a real escape for those who lead busy lives. Be inspired by TV's Monty Hall who set up home in nearby Applecross, and soak up the sunset from our panoramic lounge. Click on 'Facilities & Information' below to find out more.
