Prosen

Photo of Hostel

Glenprosen is the most intimate of the Angus Glens, on the southernmost edge of the Cairngorms National Park. Prosen Hostel was recently converted from the Glen Primary School to serve the upgraded East Cairngorms footpath network. Two Munros, the Mayar & Driesh, link Glenprosen to the Cairngorms plateau. The living room has a wood burning stove, internet connection, and raised area for admiring the view (and red squirrels) through the school’s huge windows. The Glen is teeming with wildlife including blackgame and ptarmigan; if you’re lucky, you may even see an otter or an eagle!
