Wildlife
Wildlife is an extremely significant part of Loch Ossian. There
were 103 species of birds counted here last year including the
golden eagle, peregrine falcon, short eared owl, corncrake, crested
tit, cross bill and many more. Mammals living in the area include
red deer, roe deer, otter, pine marten, wild cat, red squirrell,
fox, badger, water voles, short tailed voles, pygmy shrew,
pippestrellebats, daubenton’s bats, mountain hare and weasel. There
are also lizards, slow worms and adders, frogs, newts and toads.
Trout and pike are plentiful in the rivers and lochs for
fishing
