Right on the shore of Loch Ness with great views over the loch. Car probably essential here as the hostel is located quite far from any village. Cosy lounge and spacious dining area. Friendly staff.

The facilities are not extraordinary, but they are functional and kept clean. But you cannot beat the location: right on Loch Ness with views of the water from many of the rooms. It is a great location for exploring the region. Note: in July/August there are a lot of biting midges. Go prepared.

This hostel is literally on the highway into Inverness. The front door can be no more that 20 feet from the asphalt. Very, very quiet (with the exception of the traffic) and with absolutely nothing to do for the entire day after you must vacate the premises from 10 until 5. My first and last stay there... On the positive side...I had a room all to myself.

This YH is in a lovely location. When I was there in July 2011 it was run efficiently, clean, and facilities were fine. It would be a good place for groups, but question the value for money compared to a B&B if you are travelling as a pair or on your own. The B&B I used on my trip were typically £30-£35 / night. (offered own room plus facilities, TV, very often free WiFi., Tea /coffee making fac. and a very substantial cooked breakfast). In my opinion, although the YH was OK, for me the YH was not good value for money.

A great hostel, right on the shore of Loch Ness and close enough to the Isle of Skye for a day's outing there. We slept in the annexe, right on the water's edge and found it quiet and comfortable. I highly recommend this hostel.

For anyone doing the Great Glen Way, please note this hostel is 4 miles beyond Invermoriston (if you're starting at Ft William). We made the silly mistake of thinking it was in Invermoriston or very closes to it. Wrong answer. This caused a significant deterioration of morale when we realised the end was not as nigh as we had hoped. Och. On the bright side though, the german husband and wife team running the hostel were extremely friendly, helpful and helped make the stay very pleasant indeed. It'a a nice wee hostel and the location right on the banks of Loch Ness (as the hostel name suggests) is superb with brilliant views.
