Great climbs on Ben More and Stob Binnein then B. Lui and B. a Chleibh. For the last two the (shorter) route starts by crossing a wide river by 'stepping stones' which are almost non-existent then a very boggy mile through the forest. Worth it all of course! If your at the east end of Loch Tay the Crannog is a very well worth while place to experience, where you may well be amazed at how they lived thousands of years ago and you can try your hand at doing it their way eg making fire, spinning wool, using an ancient lathe etc.

There is a nice atmosphere at this hostel compared to others that I've stayed at. The staff are really attentive and helpful and the kitchen is very well equipped. The location, although lovely, is really just for those doing the West Highland Way or passing through as there isn't much to do in Crianlarich but if you have a car or don't mind paying bus and train fares to other locations then it's an ideal base. All in all I rate this hostel and had a nice stay there. PR - London

From Crianlarich you can easely make a daytrip to Oban. That's a lovely harbor-village with lots of things to do. Like: visit the Oban distilery, walk around in the harbour, make a seal-trip, shopping, hanging out in the McCraig's Tower with nice view over the harbour and further.

A large and well-equipped hostel at the mid point of the W Highland Way within walking distance of 11 Munros. Could not be closer to transport links! Masses of space to cook, eat and sit around and chat - the hostel's position means you're guaranteed to meet a wide range of people, obviously most of them baggers or doing the Way. Shop and pub round the corner too.
