We visited the Cairngorms in February half-term to take our daughter skiing and as expected because of the fantastic snow and conditions the mountain was very busy, however, we were able to access the free car parks at all times and used the free shuttle bus service from the Coire Cas car park. We would advise people to car share to lessen the burden on spaces. We would advise you to purchase a lift pass on a daily basis as the weather on the mountain can close in quickly, wind speed acceleration closes the lift system, and visibility is much reduced. The cafe's on the mountain are excellent value for money, but again be prepared for a long wait at peak times. Patience and good humour is needed on a regular basis to ski in the Cairngorms, but the vista over Loch Morlich with a sunset from the top of Cairngorm is worth every wait.

One member of staff here was great - the other quite disinterested which was a shame. Rooms and kitchen clean and tidy - although we were disappointed that the pool table was out of action.

A great location for exploring the Cairngorms with many great walks straight from the hostel doorstep. Be sure to stock up on provisions in Aviemore as the local shop across the road is eye-wateringly expensive!

Cairngorm Lodge remains my absolute favourite of your hostels. It is large, spatious and comfortable. The staff are always very helpful. It is, of course, also in a spectacular location.
