Bus

Car

From Ullapool; take the A835 northwards, left (Ledmore Junction)on the A837 and then just before Lochinver turn right to the B869 for 2 miles and then left for 1 mile following the YH signs. From Lochinver; YH is 4 miles NW of Lochinver... Up the hill and turn left onto the B869 for 2 miles and then left for 1 mile following the YH signs.

Foot

From Lochinver - take the Baddidarrach footpath to Achmelvich Beach. Spectacular views, 1 to 1.5 hour, approx 3.5 miles. Not suitable for carrying heavy Luggage!

Train

Inverness to Lairg: Mon-Sat: Dep. 10.38 am - Arr. 12.20 pm * connects with Royal Mail Postbus, limited seats available (8) * no connecting Postbus service on Sunday *From Lochinver a taxi can be taken to Achmelvich Beach (call 01571844479 or 07986738550)
