Cairngorm Canoe Weekend 2011

Return to Holiday Ideas
Cairngorm Canoe Weekend

The first day of this two-day course is for those people who have never canoed before or have only canoed a few times and would like to learn the paddling and rescue skills you need in preparation for the river trip on day two. On day two, you will travel to the launch site at Kincraig on the upper River Spey. Once on the water time will be taken to offer paddling techniques that will help you become more comfortable in your boat. Paddling down the river you will experience the beautiful Cairngorms National Park from a unique vantage point that most tourists never see. You will witness a huge variety of bird and wildlife before stopping for a packed lunch at the lunch spot. After lunch you will continue down the River Spey and end the trip at the Old Bridge Inn in Aviemore.

Although all the activities are tailored for novices, please bear in mind that we will be paddling on river and current and weather will be a factor. Poor weather may result in a change of paddling plans such as paddling on a different part of the river.

Price includes equipment hire.
