A car ferry operates from Houton to Lyness, details for both are available through Orkney Ferries (01856 872044). As the nearest shop is around 16km away at Lyness and there is no public transport on the island, customers are advised to ensure they have enough provisions. minibus, taxi and island tour guides available on the island.
