Ullapool to Achmelvich (Local buses):
Local bus (67A) twice daily to Lochinver and Youth Hostel (ask driver for YH drop).
Departs Ullapool 0910(summer) or 1012(winter) and 1637.
Arriving hostel 1012(summer), 1112(winter) and 1738 respectively.

NB: Summer = May 1 to Sept 30
      Winter = Oct 1 to Apr 30

By Train:

Get the train to Lairg from Inverness and then the post bus from Lairg (1215) to Lochinver (1400) on request.

By Car:

From Ullapool; take the A835 northwards, left (Ledmore Junction)on the A837 and then just before Lochinver turn right to the B869 for 2 miles and then left for 1 mile following the YH signs.

From Lochinver; YH is 4 miles NW of Lochinver... Up the hill and take the left B869 for 2 miles and then left for 1 mile following the YH signs.

Parking: Drive right round past the caravans to the beach car park on the right. Free overnight parking.

On Foot:
From Lochinver – take the Baddidarrach footpath to Achmelvich Beach. Spectacular views, 1 hour, approx 3.5 miles
