Recycle your old mobile phone with Envirofone

Turn your old mobiles into cash in under two minutes – no bidding, no auctions, no hassle.

Throughout Europe, there is growing concern about the serious environmental problem caused by the build up of old and obsolete mobile phones. Each year, in the United Kingdom alone, over 10 million people upgrade their mobile phone to a newer model with no thought of where the old ones might end up - usually in a landfill site

The mobiles Envirofone receive are re-used wherever possible in areas around the world which need them. These areas usually have a poor landline infrastructure which creates a demand for the type of mobile technology some of us would class as obsolete. If mobile phones cannot be re-used, they are recycled in the appropriate manner. Envirofone has made over £120,000 in donations to charities since inception. By using the link to the right the SYHA will receive a donation on top of the sum you receive!

SYHA’s Volunteering Policy

Over the past year or so, the National Executive and senior staff have been preparing a volunteering policy for the Association. Volunteering is a vital and growing part of our work and we hope the following summary of the policy will encourage more of our members (and potential members) to contribute time, skill and expertise.

The mechanics of organising and co-ordinating volunteering across the Association are under development, but relatively modest initiatives can be progressed meantime through the Districts. If you have any particular thoughts or suggestions on developing volunteering within SYHA, please contact National Executive members John Baldwin or Judy Roxburgh via National Office, or contact your local District Secretary.
